Pain!

Pain! -- Posted by Kiki McGaha on 09-23-04 06:28

Hello everyone,

After trying, Vioxx, Celebrex and the newest Bextra, I don't know what
to do, the previous meds were helping with the pain, but I was retaining
water with all of them.
So I am back on Motrin, 200mgs, three times a day, very little effect in
controlling the pain, big effect on my stomach.

What can I try? over the counter that will relieved the pain.
Please no miracle drugs.

Thank you.

Kiki.

Hi Kiki, Everything we take for arthritis has some kind of side effect.
I have had the water problem with Indocine and had to stop it. Naprosyn
works really well for me,,, Sooo, I use Aleve, with food because it will
make nice round holes in our insides just like indocine and most NSAIDS.
The new drugs that you have tried are the best at not doing that.
What did you doctor say about you retaining water?
Harv

Thank you Harv, My Doctor told me that the water retention was a very common
side effect, and to keep on taking the meds.

Kiki.

Dear Kiki

I have been using Meloxicam or Mobic for several months for arthritis in my
jaw and elsewhere...I was having terrible headaches and I feel quite
well..It's very expensive though, but it may be worth the switch for a
while..I have had the same issues with Vioxx, ibuprofen and such.
May God bless you and give you hope. Sincerely

Thank you, I heard about Mobic, will ask my physician about it....
Never heard of Meloxicam, any other name for it?

Take care.

Kiki.
