Fine , then please change the alert to apply to ALL Herbal medicines
and not only Ayurveda. There is no point in singling out only Ayurveda
when ALL herbal medicines are suspect isn't it ?
Thank you for acknowledging in one of the other threads that some
Ayurvedic medicines like Ashwagandhadi and guggul are very effective
in treating Rheumatic Arthritis etc.
Also , instead of condemning ALL forms of lead or heavy metals as
poisonous , some more research needs to be done to understand if
certain heavy metal compounds when mixed with certain other molecules
, can actually be beneficial in trace amounts.

You are right in saying that ALL herbal medicinal preparations from
India, China and other counties, and preparations called Nutritional
Supplements, should also be examined for effectiveness as well as for
their "toxic" their contents. Since a few recent reports had appeared,
through the warnings given by the Centers for the Diseases Control, on a
number of cases in USA of heavy metal toxicity in human patients caused
by the use of Ayurvedic medications for the treatment of Arthritis I
commented on the Ayurvedic medications imported in USA. In my studies
guggul and other Ayurvedic preparations were found to be ineffective in
the treatment of experimental "joint inflammations" as well as in
patients. Usefulness of Ashwagandha in arthritis has also not ben
documented, but strongly suggested.......Balwant Dixit
