(OT) Are we a nation at risk from the flu?

(OT) Are we a nation at risk from the flu? -- Posted by awthrawthr on 10-10-04 21:18

A personal story if I may. Tonight, I was giving my elderly neighbor a
ride home. We stopped at a grocery store.

While at the checkout counter, the conversation turned to the scarcity
of flu shots.

I suggested to the cashier an alternative: elderberry, an inexpensive
herb. Did I have a study? Did I have an FDA approval? Nope, and nope.

But me and my boss both had a strikingly similar experience...

...in a two week period, both of us were hit by that sudden, early
awful flu feeling. In each case, we popped a couple of capsules of
elderberry. In less than a half-hour – bingo we felt like new – or as
new as a decrepit 54-year old can feel. LOL!

My personal experience is that elderberry puts the herbs echinacea and
goldenseal to shame. My boss says elderberry stops viruses from being
able to replicate. Who knows?

Oh yeah...

... elderberry doesn't seem to give you that 'flu-shot' mini-flu
feeling either.

So if you can't get, or don't want a flu shot, you might want to look
into elderberry.
