Mannatech, Inc. participated in the 2nd Annual Emerging Technologies
Conference at MIT on September 29-30, 2004. This year Mannatech was
one of 25 exhibitors selected from a pool of 120 showcase applicants
by Technology Review. The conference gives companies an opportunity to
present their breaking technology to an international audience of
entrepreneurs, inventors, and investors. In last year's February 2003
issue of Technology Review magazine, an MIT Enterprise, Glycomics was
named in its annual innovation issue as one of the "10 Emerging
Technologies That Will Change the World." Mannatech was the only
dietary supplement company that participated in the 2nd Annual
Technologies Conference event.
Mannatech's booth, "Mannatech's Glyconutritional Supplements: The Good
Sugars" was presented by Ms. Jane Ramberg, Director of Product
Substantiation at Mannatech and Dr. Robert Murray, a biochemist and
member of the Editorial Board of Mannatech's online scientific
journal, GlycoScience & Nutrition. Dr. Murray is a also a contributor
to the 1996 24th edition of Harper's Biochemistry, a medical text,
that first introduced the eight saccharides
(sugars/carbs/monosaccharides/glyconutrients) needed for cell
processes, functions and disease prevention.
