working the area around the sore stop Re: working it - lol -- Posted by Janice on 05-13-04 23:22
I thought the idea of newsgroups was for people with the same problem to say
what has worked for them, because doctors keep saying different things. The
sufferers on this ng don't seem very helpful

Paul Holland is really helpful to genuine sufferers. You are not
understanding the big picture here Janice. Most Arthritis newsgroups
and there members are realy helpful and will discuss Arthritis with
anyone if that's all that's up for discussion. Most Arthritis
newsgroups [including this one] also have a charter which prevents
commercial advertising. This is so the "Dr Feelgoods" of this world
can't come along and say "drink uncle zack secret potion, and it will
cure all worldly deseases and increase your well being, it's been
proven by 30 budist monks in outer mongolia, oh and it's only fifty
quid". This newsgroups charter is here:
http://www.landfield.com/usenet/control/misc/misc.health.arthritis
Going on from this then, some "Dr Feelgoods" will come right out and
say the above, others will stick around and try and promote a
discussion when really their bottom line is to introduce their
product.
Brad had a run in with this and other arthritis newsgroups a couple of
years back now, you can search out google groups if you want to read
up on it.
In short he's back and Paul suspects he is about to continue his old
selling tricks again.

hi janice
indeed that is the reason for the 'group - and the charter also
prohibits commercial endeavors in posting
in this thread you are reading the response(s) to a well known
commercial scam spammer. a person who has visited here on many occasions
over the years - including prolonged trolling sessions he engaged in for
being 'outed' as a prefessional website operator for his families
'health' business of selling nostrums.
now he has returned, and it just so happens that in the interim he has
himself become a distributor and now has his own site for sales.
if you look at his posts, the particular items - omega 3 and the
Trolamine Salicylate are - no surprise - products that he sells...
shucks, in one of his earlier forays here, he claimed to want advice
about which product to 'buy' for his own use - all the time being
webmaster for the site selling the stuff, and that he was asking folks
to go look at.
now his method has been to ask a seemingly innocuous question, and then
see if he can either steer the person to email, or to the website...
because he is a salesman...and his site sells exactly the things he
talks about.
he is simply a bit more persistant than most scammers - and not a bright
as most - they leave and don't come back.
don't let the idjits turn you away from asking any questions you have,
or sharing info that might help another -
be well

I hadn't read all the posts, so didn't realise what he was doing. Sorry if I
jumped the gun a bit.

In 2001, my wife was 59 years old. She had severely dry eyes for over

got. She was putting drops in her eyes all day long, but, they really
weren't much help. In fact, she got an eye infection from using them.
