Long time no see Long time no see -- Posted by Sunshyne on 05-12-04 23:15
Thought I would drop by, say hello! Its me Sunshyne, to those who remember me.
Alot going on right now. Try and update the best I can.
I was in another rear end accident back in April. Since then the pain has
gotton worse. Bladder problems happening, so I was sent for a MRI. Put two and
two together finally, and who the hell knows anymore, could be back problems
causing the Fibromyalgia symptoms all along. Got 2 herniated disks in the
cervical, one of them is pinching onto the spinal cord. Not good. 2 more
herniated disks in the lumbar. Degenerative Disk Disease from L3-S1. Also
perineural cysts found on S1. I researched some on the cysts, they are rare.
They could be caused by trauma. They are usually filled with spinal fluid. They
don't usually cause problems, but then sometimes they do. Like leg pain,
bladder spasms. Having bladder spasms, and I wouldn't wish that on no one. Its
worse than the contractions of having a baby. On meds for that, its helping
some. I have been experiencing for a couple years, muscle weakness. Could be
related to the back problems.
I still have no insurance. Whatever is being done right now is being billed to
the car accident insurance, mine and the guy who hit me. Altogether the
coverage is up to 70 thousand. I see that as a blessing. If the accident did
not happen, I still would not have known about the cervical and back problems.
I continue to go to the low income doctor, she is a blessing also. Them kidney
problems I had before...Not a prob. She figured it out, and she said on my 2nd
visit to her, she thinks the kideny and bladder problems are related to a
spinal issue. Hmm. Imagine that. Planning on filing a malpractice suit on my
previous doctor before her. I asked for a MRI 4 years ago. Was denied. Even
though I had the symptoms of spinal problems. There is more to that one. Long
story.
I go to a neurosurgeon next week. Most likely having surgery soon on the
cervical, because of the herniated protuding disk pinching on the spinal cord.
Then work the our way down to the bottom.
To top it all off. My husband who was injured on the job 2 years ago, finally
has gotton to the point of having his surgery done. Same area, same thing
almost. His is not pinching on the spinal. He gets mostly pins and needle
feeling down the arm. He has MS too. So, we may just have surgery a few weeks
apart. Got no support really for afterwards, for recovery and healing. Just my
sons, who are now 12, 14 and 17.
My knees hurt all the time, been like this for several months now. Still got
right hip pain, the pain is radiating from the lower back, around the hip, down
into the leg.
I am on percocets for pain. Been taking too much of it lately, so asked my doc
for a stronger percocet. She has me trying out Ulracet right now, for 2 weeks.
See how it works. If it don't then going to a 12 hour time release percocet.
Taking flexeril also, it helps with the spasms in the neck and back.
I been dieting since January. Doing a low carb diet, Atkins. Lost 50 pounds so
far.
Plan on continuing it, until I reach my goal weight. Its helped tremendously
with IBS, digestive problems. I mainly started the diet, thinking it would help
the Fibromyalgia. Its helped a little. I can set goals, and they actually
work!
Changed since I been here last. Been growing spiritually, and emotionally. I
like what I have become. I am facing what I am up against right now, in a very
good way. I am a strong person. I am a survivor. I thrive on love and honesty.
I apologize for some things that I said or done last time I was here. I was so
immature.
Thats about it.

hey S
been awhile, glad to see you posting
- but not to hear al that you 9and hubby) have had to undergo.
re the hip/leg - sounds a bit like my own - in my case i have a couple
bad vertebrae so they thought that was it - turns out it's really from
the avn in my right hip - causes the piriformis muscles to get inflamed,
that gets the sciatic flared up - radiates down the leg.
how is your fibro doing nowadays?
congrats on the weight loss, sounds like you are doing great.
be well

I am also thinking the hip and leg thing could be related to something else. I
am shorter on one side than the other. By a inch or two. That is from the car
accident over 10 years ago. The right side of my body was affected alot by that
accident. Can even tell by the shoulders how lopsided I am. So could be wear
and tear, or making up for the uneveness on the right side.
>how is your fibro doing nowadays?
Its getting better actually. Most of the pain is the neck and then back. Been
really fatigued alot lately. Sleeping around 15 hours a day. Not good. But then
could be just making up for lost sleep over the years. LOL. Or the meds I am
on, who knows. Like I mentioned too, the diet seemed to help with the digestive
problems, which I thought was due to the fibro. I also figured out since
dieting, I am allergic to fermented foods, and dairy. Which is leading into
some other possibilities, like yeast overgrowth. Thinking on taking probiotics
for it. Trying to tackle one of the problems or symptoms of fibro at a time.
Depression still comes and goes. >
