Nodal Osteoarthritis

Did your doctor tell you that Osteoarthritis on the first joints of
your fingers (DIP joints) was caused by previous injuries? A Google
for Nodal Osteoarthritis or Heberden's Nodes will give you more
information and images. My Heberden's nodes only started appearing a
month ago so the tissue around my fingernails is red, swollen and
painful. A friend started "growing" the nodes five years ago and has
two "bubbles", like you describe, on each finger. The nodes have a
familial tendency and are more common in women. I had no idea they
hurt as much as they do.
