About six months ago I started getting bad back and neck pains. MRIs
and Xrays showed nothing seriously wrong - some arthritis, narrowing of
vertibre in one area, and a couple minor disk bulges. Anyway, I went
through a whole bottle of Nature Made brand Glucosamine, Chondroitin,
MSM complex which did nothing for me. Several websites I found claimed
Glucosamine wouldn't help back problems was only useful for the hip and
knee.
Since the stuff I tried was in hard tablet HCL form, I decided to try
some Glucosamine Sulfate capsules from Vitamin World (I'm not endorsing
any product, just providing an account of events). I also bought their
Chondroitin capsules. The difference was incredible because I received
immediate pain relief.
I believe they work better for at least one of the following reasons:
Capsules containing powdered ingredients offer superior absorption to
hard pills, and perhaps the sulfate form works better than HCL. I
realize everyone's body reacts differently, but I'm sold on the sulfate
capsules and I recommend them to anyone who hasn't had success with the
HCL tablets.
