wonder if this is a reincarnation of "Steven Beck" of make money fast chain letter fame? in any case:

how many complaints for spamming in violation of this newsgroup's charter can he look for???

No matter what you hear, sending out unsolicited commercial email or spam is
not the proper way to advertise your site. What it will do is cause hundreds of
angry letters to you and the administrative personnel of KTC I-Net. It is also
likely that your business and our network will be blacklisted and/or banned from
accessing other sites. This type of activity can cause harm to all users of our
network and is grounds for account termination.

In general, you may NOT use your KTC I-Net account:

In a manner which violates the rules, regulations and policies
of any network, server, web site, database or service provider
that you access through your KTC I-Net account;

Re: Looking for you - REDUX... -- Posted by Paul T. Holland on 04-10-05 13:19

well, it would seem that there was a reaction from those that actually have to deal with spam...not all of it good.

just received this little missive from the administrator of the site named in the spam - poor wuzzims doesn't seem to understand just what the word 'responsibility' actually means. so, here is the email, and, my reply:

>Subject:
>RE: Looking for you

> From:

>distributors that do not spam as Stephen did.

[for those who are just joining, 'greg' is the registered admin for howearly.com [the spammed site], and hvtech.com; both of which simply lead to pages for the 'agel' opportunity, a new mlm operation.

Founder and CEO, Glen Jensen, worked with NuSkin and Nature's Sunshine, President, Craig Bradley, served as Vice President of Sales for Melaleuca, and President of VíaVienté (there are also several others, but why quibble...)

what is being touted is:

Registrant:
Hasson, Inc.
P.O. Box 2424
Orem, Utah 84059
United States
Registered through: GoDaddy.com
Domain Name: AGELLEADERSHIP.COM
Created on: 16-Feb-05
Expires on: 16-Feb-06
Last Updated on: 16-Feb-05 .

Agel Enterprises
9350 S 150 E Floor 5
Salt Lake City, Utah 84070

just another of the 'nutrients' bunch (fancy new tm calling it gelceuticals...) that come thru here thinking we are naive or just plain stupid.

so, there are 3 individuals upstream of our little spammer, and in their own words:

"The management team not only has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the network marketing industry
but they have been involved in international development and have led successful start-ups. Glen has been involved with a number of companies that he helped take from small companies to revenues of hundreds of millions. Agel will be the next network marketing Giant." but it's just yea old 'fast start' angle:

"Agel has created a new compensation structure that is truly revolutionary. It is our belief that this
compensation plan will produce some of the largest checks in network marketing history. The plan
can't be described as a binary, a breakaway, a unilevel, or a forced matrix. It is a revolutionary hybrid.

What is long term viability? It is not just company longevity. If you used to make $100k and now only
make $30k, this is not long term viability. Ten years later your check should still be the same fulfilling
the promise of long-term residual income. The Agel compensation plan includes the principles that
ensure that promise can be fulfilled for those who work at it.

Fast start $200 - $75 - $35
Global performance pool (3% GSV)
Recruit 4 new qualifying members / month
Executive level ($1000) = 3 points
Leadership level ($600) = 2 points
Business builder level ($200) = 1 point "

so, we know just what little spammer's motivation was don't we???

now, let's look and greg's little 'problem' for himself as admin, and all those other 'rep's:

first he says:
>Stephen Beck, appears to have been misled into purchasing a tool called My
>Affiliate Finder which posted all of this nonsense.

a) 'appears'?, my aunt fannie - he spammed...now, if he was 'really' misled, then he is an idiot who should have been screened out by the leaders of this company. they are, after all, so durned 'knowledgeable and experienced'.

b) since when is dealing with spam - and all the economic repercussions to the end recipient, and all the isp's along the delivery chain - ever 'nonsense'??? and, where were the safeguards within 'your' system to educate 'your' rep's as to acceptable practices and procedures...

to characterize spam in such a light is, imo, indicative of an individual who needs a major 'cluestick'...

perhaps those in the higher echelons would be better served were they to re-evaluate this little tidbit from the 'agel' promotional materials:

"3. Guerilla marketing works. "

i can guarantee at least one little scam spammer that the above will backfire if he ever shows his nym here again... he, and you, greg, would be better served by pasting this one from the 'agel' materials on your forehead(s):

"5. Word-of-mouth will make or ruin anything. "

emphasis on the last portion....

next:

> I am not sure why you chose to report to this to the registrar of the web site he was advertising.

well duh!...because of the above - the corporate 'knowledge and experience' you all are so proud of should have precluded any of your rep's from ever going near tactics such as spam email. that you do not have adequate controls in place is your responsibility - and any upstream fallout from the actions of your people is also yours to shoulder.

thus, the 'cluestick' of reporting your site to it's upstream -

next:

>You caused that site to be shut down affecting thousands of innocent
>distributors that do not spam as Stephen did.

aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh and gooooolllllleeeeeeeeeee shucks...

you are known by the company you keep...

what is so durn funny is that first, you let an idiot into your operations, and then when he does something reprehensible, you wish to blame others for the fallout...lololololololol

just for your edification - and please follow along closely:

the proximal causative agent, of any action taken against the agel operations and/or it's representative's website, was not the ensuing complaint(s) generated about your spammer, but rather the original spams 'causing' complaints to be filed.

that you have failed to understand this, and that you have gone so far as to generate this email to me, attempting to turn it back on moi, is defacto evidence of your 'cluelessness' and sufficient confirmation of the necessity of said complaint(s) to begin with...

and let me note that in the normal verbose section on agel's rep agreement pages, there is not one word about spam - not one...methinks you bring any and all repercussions upon yourselves with such a glaring omission.

now, have a nice day,

go away,

and do not email me again.
