Glucosamine Sulfate question----

Glucosamine Sulfate question---- -- Posted by Ron G on 04-10-05 12:24

Hi--
My Dr told me to start taking Glucosamine Sulfate at 1500 mg/day, then later
possibly go up to 3000 mg/day.
I've seen so much that is Glucosamine and Chondrotin (sp?) but nothing on
just Glucosamine Sulfate.
Anyone know much about the difference between the two?
Could it be that he chose the sulfate because I'm diabetic on pills and
Insulin, on Plavis, heart risk 40% ejection rate, or carotid 60 % blockage?
Is there some counter-indication involved?

Thanks---
Ron

I have had two doctors say that the Chrondrotin will do nothing for you so
maybe that is why he is not using it, but this is just a guess.

It seems to me I heard somewhere that Ron G wrote in article

Ron, there's a pretty objective and informative Web page about
glucosamine, put together by a man who used to be a regular in this
group and in alt.support.arthritis.

http://home.gci.net/~cushman4/oa-gcs.htm

If you still have questions after you've checked Cush's site post back
in alt.support.arthritis, where you'll find more eyes watching posts
than in this group.
