Would like to hear from anyone who has had the hyalagan injections --
side effects, how painful, outcome, would you do again. I am considering in
future but skeptical of results as my knee juts inward. If it were straight
and hurt I would be more apt to think it might work.
Dr said it is not bone on bone yet, but outside has lost most of padding.
He is not pushing, just offering. Though I have RA my new rheumatologist
said knee was from osteo.

I had the injections - three - one week apart for each. I had no side
effects. The shot is uncomfortable, but bearable - I felt a lot of
pressure, but due to the prep they spray on, no real pain. Actually,
it was very uncomfortable, but as soon as she was through, the
discomfort went away. I do remember a feeling of "fullness" in the
knee after the first one. My knee bends much more smoothly now, and I
can get up and down much much easier. Yes, I would have it done
again, if and when I needed it. I understand it's not a permanent
fix, but much more comfortable than the TKR, which my ortho said would
be the next step if the pain shot he gave me didn't work. My rheumy
was the one to give me the injections. I say, go for it.

Thanks for reply. Mine would be 5 weekly injections. I am pretty well used
to pain and if it would help would do it. I know a replacement will
eventually have to be done and would just as soon do it and get over with
but ortho surgeon wants to wait. Glad it helped you.

Yes...I had all five shots.....felt pretty good while the shots were being
adminstrated...but two weeks after the completition I was back to square
one!
I had rheum....ended up having the knee replaced, which was a breeze, should
of done it on the get-go instead of fooling around...
