Why no A.A.R.P. support? Why no A.A.R.P. support? -- Posted by adjuster@myway.com on 09-07-05 17:32
Does anyone out there know why organizations
for seniors aren't using their influence or clout to help
a worthy cause like the methuselah mouse prize ???
You'd think organizations like AARP would see
it as being in their memberships best interest to slow the
aging process as much as possible; but this attempt to directly
slow aging with science seems to get less support than it deserves.
Of course this would also once successfull reduce the cost
to the national economy of the total cost of the senior citizens.

No the mouse wouldn't be diabetic, but age is a factor in type
2 diabetes; and getting rid of the curse of aging would be a
big deal in preventing future diabetics as well as many other
age related problems and conditions. Besides, current diabetics
will eventually die of old age if nothing else, making it a
problem for them too.

Did you say the mice were T1 or T2?

AARP is a political organization.
They have no interest in helping anybody except for their own pocketbooks.
