I just received my report from my doctor's office and my HBAIQ was 5.0
! The highest I've ever seen it was 5.9, but yet I don't consider
myself that great at watching my sugar levels as most of you seen to.
I'm a T-2 and take Starklix with anywhere from 12 to 20 units of type
N once daily. I eat a lot of fast food. My usual meal is a McDonald's
grilled chicken salad for lunch ( I skip breakfast as I stay up late
and lunch sounds more appealing) For an evening meal I'll quite often
chow down on a Big Mac. No bun, just the meat a few fries and some of
the sauce and pickles. I also have been known to chow down on fish and
chips ( just a few french fries ) or a coney island etc. I've seen my
blood sugar go from say 250+ if I've really been into the wrong stuff
down to a waking reading of 60 or so. I just have a real hard time
believing that I've got such great HBAIC numbers.?
I eat a *lot* of meat as that helps keeps the sugar down and I've got
malabsorbtion so I'm skinny as a rail and even with all the meat
eating my bad cholesterol was 139 this past week. My good cholesterol
was in the ballpark too.
One thing that does puzzle me is that my toes seem to be getting
slightly more numb even with my supposed great HBAIC numbers ?
