The doctor in hospital says that the blood pressure tablet given to my
mum by the GP, which she has been taking for a year plus cause
potassium deficiency in her body. She is diagnosed to have diabetes
last october. I wonder potassium deficiency indirectly lead to
diabetes? By the way, she's overweight.

I've heard or seen *NOTHING* to indicate potassium deficiency can cause
diabetes.
The overweight can be due to the onset of Type 2 diabetes. The insulin
resistance and resulting high insulin levels can make you quite hungry and
keep you that way, so you eat more and your weight goes up.
But good luck to your mum, and have her drop by and say hello if she feels
sociable.
