Maltodextrin in splenda Maltodextrin in splenda -- Posted by Karen Pannia on 07-02-03 15:18
Hello,
Can someone help me with this? I have been told to use Splenda as a
sweetener, because it generally affects blood sugar minimally. I just
read that Maltodextrin has a GI of 137! That is more than glucose
itself! So, why is Splenda recommended to diabetics when it contains
sucralose AND maltodextrin? Why would we want to use something rating
even higher than glucose? Am I missing something?
Thanks.

I've been using stevia for several years. There are purported health

You could be having reaction to diet sodas & sweeteners w/aspartame.
Splenda, Stevia, Saccharin (Sweet n Low) appear to be much safer to use.
