Lantus and refrigeration

Lantus and refrigeration -- Posted by Nan on 11-17-03 16:27

My pharmacist tells me that I need not refrigerate Lantus insulin. The box
says to keep it between 36 and 46 C. He says they do not refrigerate it. I
have refrigerated mine. Don't see any sense in taking the risk but has he
already messed it up. He says as long as the room is cool that it is okay
(his pharmacy feels about 75 F to me)

Thank you

I refrigerated mine. It will go bad at room temps. It turns from clear to
kind of cloudy after a few weeks.

I go through a vial every 7-10 days. If I understand you correctly
then I shouldn't have any problem keeping it out of the refrigerator.
