Followup on Humulin N not refrigerated in shipment Followup on Humulin N not refrigerated in shipment -- Posted by Ron G on 05-10-04 16:21
Hi-----
I posted a bit of a while back about this. The supplier is the VA.
They searched their data banks, contacted the maker of the Insulin, and
got back with me.
Before, they gave me 1 bottle of insulin for a 3 month period. It came
warm, and the info says it will only last 30-35 days.
Now, after searching it out, they ship me 3 vials for a vial a month (3
month supply in a warm shipment).
Their answer is that the Humilin NPH or N will last 35 days after it is
opened, once it has been shipped warm, then kept refrigerated. So the
shipment is warm, I refrigerate it, then when I open one (and keep it
refrigerated), then that vial will last about 35 days.
They said the unopened vials, shipped warm, kept refrigerated after
receiving them, will last over the 3 month period, actually last a year in
the fridge.
I guess this is a new way of doing it, and this is the best info they
have given me so far.
I didn't post on the subject again until I had an answer. Now that it
seems resolved, I'd like to hear your comments on what you feel on it.
Best to you!
Ron

Well one of the reasons given by the government not to
get drugs from canada was that insulin needs to be shipped
cooled and that the canadian pharmicies were not doing that.
I think the goverment 0fficials are a bunch of idiots.

I sure know what you mean! :-)
Hmmmmm--- I "thinks" we are being Bulls****ed by people who have a personal
financial stake, and listen to lobbys.
If Canadian drugs are so bad, then where are all the Canadians that died
from them, and are laying about in the streets?
Best to You!
Ron :-)
