Retinopathy laser treatment

Retinopathy laser treatment -- Posted by RazorFang on 05-31-04 20:06

Hi, i had a procedure done to my eye where they use a laser to put about
1000 microscopic holes in my eye to relieve the presure, i had about 500
done and im due to go back in a couple weeks to get the 2nd half done. now
its been a few days since i've had it done but it seems that since then i
sometimes start seeing little tiny specks of light in the corner of my eye,
like tiny sparkles, i usually see it when its dark or close my eyes, my
doctor said he hasnt heard of that effect happening but said any symptoms
associated with the laser will go away in a few days. has anyone else here
had a similar situation?? thanks

I don't know about your treatment, but i had 100 burns to my right eye about
4 months ago. llast scars on my vision went over the course of the next few
weeks. The specks of light in my eyes was something i had prior to the
treatment for retinopathy and was something i've not had since i got my
blood sugar under proper control. Laser surgery did not increase or decrease
the ocurrence of it.

If you want a sound tip to increase the sucess of your treatment, try ( if
you don't already) including green peppers, asparagus. spinach and onion in
your diet. My initial forecast was for 300 to 400 burns in that eye. All i
did in the month up to the final scan before treatment was yam as much of
that as i could. Whether it was that which helped is very much a moot point.

If you read up on leutin and bioflavinals you'll get the gist of it. It
makes for interesting reading, well it did for me anyway:)

I have had the same laser treatment. Twice and now they say they are
done with the left eye.

As to your question: I see sparkler type lights at night when I turn
off the lights. It does subside. I never asked my doc about this as I
figured it was part of the program. I also feel pressure sometimes that
I never felt before. It's the same little "ping" that I felt when they
got close to a nerve.

What do we allow them to do to us? LOL

I just heard this during a radio news break. There is a real question about the heart and brain safety of Celebrex and Bextra.
