Actually, it can. Extended periods of hypoglycemia due to mistreatment of
diabetes can certainly damage the brain, and the various circulatory issues
common to long-term diabetics can help trigger devastating strokes. There's
also the possibility of head injury from collapsing from hypoglycemia or
making mistakes when driving, which is why we need to be so cautious in our
treatment.
