What meds are you taking, and for how long have you been taking them?
Also, when counting carbs, how many grams of carbs do you take in? I
typically took in around 60g of carbs per meal, and shot for about 30g
per snack. Don't forget to watch the fat intake too, as fats can raise
the bg's over a longer period of time.
Do you have an endocrinologist, or are you seeing a general
practitioner? Also, consider asking for a referral to a nutrionist who
specializes in diabetics, or a certified diabetes educator (cde). My
cde has been a godsend to me, and has actually helped me figure this
sneaky disease out better than my dr's.

welcome to the club. but you'll have to give a little more detail if
anyone can give you some help.
weight
type of meds
sample of an exact days menu
type of exercise
have to keep in mind, that even when we are doing exactly as a doctor
tells us, we won't get perfect control. and some of us have a harder
time with it, not because we are doing anything wrong, just our bodies
and disease won't cooperate. and getting stressed out over it, only
makes it worse.

Miles, all the drugs you take only help to enhance a process which
assumes you jhave insulin. If you have no insuline then all the drugs
in world will have a 0 effect. Maybe you have no/low insulin. When I
was first diagnosed, I had a difficult time showing my doc that I had
little insulin. Your doc needs to take your BG about an hour after
eating carbs as well as some test to indicate how much insulin shows
up.

Miles, I may have missed a post where you say which "type" of diabetes you
have (Type 1 or Type 2), but it seems that your medication is "type 2" and
it's plainly not working. Myabe you should consider going back to your doc
and discussing the possibilty of a change in meds more orientated towards a
type 1 (insulin)
Just a thought mind.
