Losing weight on insulin Losing weight on insulin -- Posted by Bob Coles on 10-23-04 22:28
I am an obese type 2 diabetic, who used a heck of insulin (ca. 200 units
daily). I found it impossible to lose weight and in desperation tried a
diet which I was really sceptical about. That was I was sceptical until I
saw the results. In 6 weeks I have lost 14 lbs - OK not so dramatic, but a
healthy rate to lose weight, right? The dramatic results are in blood
glucose control and insulin usage.
I dropped from 12.5 mmol/l (225 in US numbers) average down to 5.4 mmol/l
(97 in US numbers). That was while cutting back from 198 units/d to 136
units/d because of "lows". I can't wait to see my next A1c. The great
thing is this diet leaves me with no hunger without resorting to
prescription drugs. Check out this website www.downsize-u.com

It must be a great feeling to be the self-appointed policeman of the world.
Yes, the product is Herbalife, and I have achieved all of the results stated
in the message.
Furthermore, you will be happy to know that, because of your response, I
will be posting weekly progress updates, because I think the product is
great and I know how tough it is to lose weight while injecting insulin.
Have a great day, but I doubt it.

Actually, the real-life policemen are very interested in Herbalife and
its salesmen, e.g.
http://www.mlmwatch.org/04C/Herbalife/herbalife04.html
". . .Early editions of the Herbalife Official Career Handbook made illegal
claims that various herbal ingredients were effective against more than 70
diseases and conditions. . . .
. . .In 1987, the company agreed to pay California $850,000 to settle civil
charges that it made false medical claims in promoting its products. The
same year, it stopped selling two products after a safety and labeling
review by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration: Tang Quei Plus for
menstrual cramps and K-8 to relieve stress and moodiness. . ."
". . .Opening two days of hearings, Senator William V. Roth, Jr. (R-DE),
chairman of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations,. . .(called
Cynthia Lee) and. . .
Cynthia Guillaume Lee, of New Orleans, told the pitiful story of her late
husband, Bivian Lewis Lee, Jr., who had retired as a National Football
League player in 1976. He became a Herbalife distributor in October 1984
because "the extra money sounded real good," said Mrs. Lee. Although he was
not overweight and "was very much against taking any kind of diet product,"
he began taking a Herbalife product because "he said that if he was going to
sell it, he would at least try it out."
Two weeks later, Bivian, age 35, was dead. His widow testified:. . . ."
One way to describe many of the Herbalife sales force is:
http://home.datawest.net/esn-recovery/artcls/socio.htm
but since Herbalife is a pyramide-type scheme, a lot of the salesforce get
taken themselves. Of course, that's better then ending up dead like
Bivian Lewis.
http://www.mlmwatch.org/13Victims/fox.html
". . .My husband and I gave this business adventure 20 to 30 hours per week,
doing everything we were told to do while our advisers continued the empty
promises of residual income checks. The most we ever got from Herbalife was
a check for $3, not the thousands as promised. We were also required to
place a personal order for ourselves that HAD to total $100 or more a month,
each and every month. After almost a year had passed the Herbalife business
left us thousands of dollars in debt with nothing to show for it. At this
point our immediate supervisors had quit the business and we were dealing
with their supervisor in Wisconsin. She just flat-out quit helping us or
returning our calls. We decided to cut our losses and the supervisor in
Wisconsin agreed to buy our recruiting supplies and pay for the shipping. I
sent off 3 large boxes to her and had to contact her repeatedly to get her
to pay for the items. She finally did, but she stuck us with the shipping
cost of over $80. We finally sold the rest of our inventory on eBay for a
pittance of what we originally paid for it. . .'
Keep spamming Herbalife on dangerous-disease forums, and you will lose your
internet provider.

Hi Bob
You're either the promoter of that web-site - in which case you're a
parasite sucking the blood from diabetics; or you are truly a diabetic
in which case you are a credulous idiot.
Design your own diet - as I did (and anyone can), using common sense.
Email me and I'll send you a (free) copy. It ain't rocket science and it
costs absolutely nothing. Do a little exercise. And test, test, test
your Bgs as I did (and anyone can), using Jennifer's advice at
http://www.alt-support-diabetes.org/NewlyDiagnosed.htm .
It works, which is something I seriously doubt about that Herbalife
web-site.
Cheers Alan, T2, Australia.
