No. Cyclamates are a newer type of sweetener. I think Saccharine was one
of the first artificial sweeteners. It does have a bitter aftertaste if
that's what you're looking for.

Cyclamates were outlawed first in the US, based on some *terrible*
experiments. As I understand it, they used megadoses of calcium
cyclamate instead of sodium cyclamate, because the rats wouldn't eat
sodium cyclamate in large enough doses to fit their experimental
procedures. And the rats, who have supersaturated calcium levels in
their bladders anyway, showed scratches on their bladders, according to
the researcher I spoke with from crystals forming in their bladders.
(Can you say unhappy rats with kidney stones? I knew you could!)
Unfortunately, there had been a recent change in FDA policies forbidding
the use of food supplements that gave even a *whiff* of possibly causing
cancer, due to previous supplements they'd approved with far worse
consequences, and the scratches were described as "pre-cancerous lesions".
Viola, no more cyclamates due to badly done and misinterpreted
experimental results.

Are you asking if saccharine is a cyclamate? If so, no, they are
different artificial sweeteners.
