I just found that new Diet Vanilla Pepsi. But, for ME, Splenda is one of the
most vile tasting substances on Earth and will NOT buy a product containing
it!
Got some of that Reddenbacher Honey butter popcorn and by the 3rd mouthfull
was ready to throw up. Even brushing my teeth wouldn't get rid of the taste.
Also, when I looked it up on the internet, 6 of the 1st 10 websites Google
pulled up were talking about the toxic metabolites of Splenda (aka
sucralose, a chlorinated sucrose, if I read it right). To be fair, I
haven't looked up the others, so I don't know about THEIR metabolites (what
they break down into when they're digested)

Well, personally, I drink the el cheapo store brand from whatever
store I'm in. In the states, they all contain aspartame, and that
doesn't bother me. If you have bad side effects from it, you should
avoid it. If you don't have bad side effects from it, you should not
worry about it. If anyone says " causes these horrible side
effects", and they don't indicate that they personally have experienced
the effects in question, and cannot cite a reputable, refereed
scientific journal as a source, just add that individual to your
killfile and drive on.
Speaking only for myself,
Joe Durusau

Just curious, where, in what I wrote did I claim harmful effects
other than a bad taste I couldn't get out of my mouth? And the
reference to google can be checked with a simple one minute test. Go
to Google's website, type sucralose and hit enter. What I found was at
the time 'I bought the popcorn, approximately 6 months ago and hasn't
been re-checked since then.
After all, I DID qualify the opinion of taste.

A lot of the toxic shrieking on sweeteners is from whackjobs, especially
Betty Martini and her disciple or two shrieking about Aspartame. Stay calm.
Can you still get anything with cyclamates in Canada? It got banned in
the US, but the experiments turned out to be ludicrously flawed. Getting
it *un*banned is politically out of the question, drat it....
