I dropped my HbA1c from 10.0 to 5.1 by eating low carb with high fat. I'm a
type 2.
Among those striving for fitness are some of us that do low carb while
searching for new ways to eat as much fat as possible (as a percentage).
There is a Yahoo group dedicated to this called Low Carb High Fat.
link: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/LowCarbHighFat/
Topics range from coconut oil to portion control.
The group is moderated to block spam or PETA vegans.
If this sounds like your kind of thing, come check us out. The message
history can be viewed without joining, and there is a links section to
related topics.

I went low carb high fat a year ago. I did this for a few months and
it helped my blood sugar a lot. Then I had two heart attacks and open
heart surgery. Now I'm not saying that's what did it to me, but I
certainly believe the high fat moved things along faster than they
would have happened. Now I try to balance lower carb with lower fat.
It's called moderation...something that we've all heard is best our
entire lives and something that works.

I've been eating low-carb and some fat the last few months or so and my BG
went down, it's mush more manageable now.
90% what I eat is vegetables, salads, some meat, cheese, eggs and mostly
fish. Now I enjoy to make all kinds of salads, sprinkled with imitation
crab meat, basically fish.
Should start regular exercise, only do it some times.
