Lantus Lantus -- Posted by Michael L. Thomas on 05-18-05 20:53
I have been back on insulin for about the last 6 months. I do not know
anyone that enjoys injections, but I have gotten used to it again, but
what is getting me now is that only sometimes, I get a burning when I
inject it. I do not know why it is only sometimes, but it is a painful
bun.
Anyone know of what I speak?

I noticed the burn when I started on Lantus about a year ago. And, like
you say, it doesn't burn every time but when it does it's very painful.
My Humalog insulin never hurts so it must be something specific to
Lantus. Particle size maybe?

Thanks Dave
I do not know about particle size or other types of insulins. But
you may be right.

Hi----
I read somewhere that the PH level of Lantus is a little different than
other insulins, and can cause the burning.
I am on Lantus, and occasionally get that also.
Musing----Was it in the long printed insert that I read that?
It might well have been----
Best---

Vasectomies are safer, have fewer complications and are less expensive than
tubal ligations. They may also have a lower failure rate, less than 1 percent.
The only minor disadvantage of a vasectomy is that it's not immediately
effective, as is a tubal ligation.
